What do we need to Make the Magic?

This space was created for my Young Living Essential Oils community. We offer monthly wellness programs and in February we explored fermented foods! I love to make drinks and foods that are healthy. Fermented foods are one way that I have been doing that. Anyone can do it and it's not scary.

The goal with all my shared information on this page is that it is from a real person and for real people. Fermentation is definitely one of those things!
Got my stuff, now what?
Here are the basics needed for Fermenting.
See the Amazon Shop Below for most items or check around your local shops!
You can buy grains and starters through Cultures for Health too.
Milk Kefir (MK)
MK grains
Milk – Raw, Whole, 2%- you choose. (You can alternate with Almond or coconut if desired but not long term.)
(2-3) 1.5 Pint Wide Mouth Ball Jars- no one needs more than 1 pint a day unless you’re making ½ a gallon for family smoothies!
Plastic Lids or Cheesecloth with rubber bands or reCAP lids (use wide mouth if you are using widemouth jars)
More details as needed.

Water Kefir (WK)
WK grains
Chlorine/Fluoride free water
Sugar (use Organic- can be Brown or Regular)
(1-2) Half Gallon Ball Jars
(2-3) Easy Cap Flip Lid Bottles (I Re-use ones from Sparkling Lemonade bought at Aldi- Even if you don’t drink the juice it can sometimes be cheaper than buying them. Just wash out!)
Fruit or Fruit juice or Fruit Juice Concentrate (used to make different flavors)
More details about ingredient options.

Kombucha
SCOBY (Sustained Colony of Bacteria and Yeast)
Tea- Organic Black(not earl grey), Oolong, Rooibus, Green, try not to do primarily flavored teas that have added things
Sugar (use Organic and White)
(2) ½ Gallon Ball Jars
(2-3) Flip Lid Bottles
Things for flavoring- Ginger, Lemon, Fruit, Fruit Juice Concentrate
More details on different types of ingredient options.

For Vegetables:
Salt (pink or sea)
Veggies of choice (Cabbage, Cucumbers, Carrots, Green Beans... countless others)
(As many as you want) Glass Jars (1.5 wide mouth pint work great)
Plastic lids (Use wide mouth for easier use)
Garlic or peppercorns or other fresh herbs as desired- dill or rosemary as preferred.
