Essential Options

I totally relate to this quote in The Art & Science of Aromatherapy: Your Guide for Personal Aromatherapy by Kayla Fioravanti. My book collection is growing rapidly!
This past year I discovered Essential Oils. I'd already started my journey to health a few years earlier. Examining and making major changes in what I was fueling my body with was challenging and beneficial. It was only natural that I moved on to other options that would enhance my family's health. I sought out ways to make my own natural and economical cleaning products. I also wanted to make sure that I was reducing my and my family's reliance on over the counter medications or trips to the doctor. What's the number one way to do that? Stay healthy!

Essential oils are a wonderful resource to help us accomplish that. We can use something from nature to support our body systems before they weaken. Instead of always treating a problem, EOs can help to reduce the occurrence of problems.
If I want to ensure my digestive system is operating smoothly, I can rub a drop of peppermint oil on my stomach. If I want to support my breathing system, I can massage R.C. blend on my chest or diffuse lavender, lemon and peppermint to support my whole family. It's hard to even explain how my mood has benefited from using aromatherapy. But, it does. I particularly think of my citrus oils as happy oils.

Essential oils are complex but not complicated. I have loved reading about how different from medication they are and how un-measurable they can be. I'm not a scientist- I'm an artist so I do love things that carry with them a little mystery and a unique nature. It makes it more interesting and it lets you get creative! I have been able to use the same oil to help me feel peaceful, to help support healthy skin and to add to my kiddo's bedtime bath! Something that dynamic just draws me in! I can't help but love how these little bottles can carry so much power!
